The Center for Electronic Technology and Interconnection Technologies of the “Politehnica” University of Bucharest (UPB-CETTI) was established in 1995 as a research and training center in accordance with the new Romanian legislation in the field of education and research. Like other centers in the field of electronic packaging in the world, CETTI’s main objectives are to provide substantial support for innovative electronic SME packaging activities and to support teaching and training activities for continuing education of the human resource involved in the industry e. The center’s activities focused initially on CAD training for students and engineers. At the same time, CETTI has participated in several national and international funding programs (Phare, INCO Copernicus and Leonardo da Vinci) and has become a known electronic packaging center with cooperation with universities and organizations from Europe and America. UPB-CETTI represents a training and research environment in electronic packaging at the “Politehnica” University of Bucharest, the oldest technical university in Romania. The Center implemented the ISO-9001 Quality Management System in 2004 and is a member of the 1997 IPC.
